Appears to be an eastern plains scene judging by the sparse scene in the background.
Possibly Elbert, Colorado???  Late-1800s era
The Russell Cates Mercantile Co. had a number of stores across the eastern Colorado plains, some in towns that no longer exist aka ghost towns.
The Russell Cates Mercantile building in Elbert, Colorado still stands, but doesn't look much like this one, but that could be due to remodeling over the years. I do not know.
