    Description

I have up for auction 3 antique cabinet cards from 1898.
These pictures show a group of 29 men and women who climbed Mt Ouray  (notice ladies in their dresses and hats).  This is considered a difficult hike of about 6.8 miles.
Each picture has a notation on the back.  The first one say "" Marshall Pass party July 18, 1898", the second with the same date says "snowballing on Mt Ouray Colo., altitude 14,247", and the third says Mt. Ouray Colo., rocky enclosure originally Gov Survey Station.  Of 29 passengers on special excursion car 15 made the start and 13 the finish  10 men 3 ladies.
    Great collection of 3 cards!
