For sale is an antique working cast iron ENTERPRISE MEAT GRINDER No 22 with a wood handle made by the Enterprise Manufacturing Company, Philadelphia. Grinder is embossed as follows: "ENTERPRISE - PHILA. PA.  U.S.A. - 22" and "TINNED - MADE IN U.S. OF AMERCIA. All embossed text is highlighted with gold leaf. This massive meat grinder has been restored as a display piece. Grinder measures about 13 inches from the top to the bottom of the hanging handle. The grinder measures about 15 inches in length. The opening to the grinder measures 6 inches by 4 7/8 inches. The grinder probably dates to the early 1900s. Looks great from every angle. Great piece of Americana for your vintage decor.
The Enterprise Manufacturing Company was founded in 1864. The company made cast-iron equipment for chopping, grinding, slicing, and stuffing meats and other food. It also made sad irons for several years. This rare lard press dates several decades earlier than other Enterprise Lard Press that you come across. The company name of this arch are not embossed on top of a solid arch but bridge an open gap.
