Antique French Swan's Down Feather - Powder Puff with a Sterling Silver Handle in a Hand Painted Powder Jar.
This Antique fluffy white powder puff has Authentic Swan's Down Feathers.
It is in good used condition.
It has a sterling knob with a small monogram, surrounded by scrolling design.
It is in a beautiful porcelain hand painted floral, French Powder Box.  It is marked on the bottom with a T&V, Tressemann & Vogt - France.
The powder jar measures approximately 5 inches hgt., to the top of the handle.  It measures approx. 5 in. across.  There are no cracks. At the top of the handle there is a very small chip that has been painted. The depicted flowers are exquisite. There is hand painted white beading all around the edge.
Swan's down powder puffs have been handmade in France since 1900.
Puffs were originally used by nobility to whiten their skin with rice powders.
