    Another link to my life. Joe Rosenthal the photographer of the above photo took a picture of  marines receiving communion on Iwo Jima, 3 March 1945.  My father was standing with his hands in his dungarees looking at the camera. Ira Hays (flag raiser) was to his right. The next day my father was snipered in the head, but lived.
