The standard size is 18" overall height, 48" long x 15" wide x 10" deep.  The design allows for easy customization for different sizes and materials.  The design is very sturdy and lightweight.
The standard plan uses dimensional lumber available at most home improvement centers such as Home depot or your local lumber yard.  Cost of materials is approximately .00 USD for a 4 foot long planter box, including lumber and screws.
Tools needed is
1. chop saw or miter saw.  A table saw can be used as a substitute
2. carpenter adjustable square
3. carpenters pencil
4. drill to drill pilot holes and drive screws
5. drive bit for screws
