Large Vintage Zuni Tobacco Canteen-Spinney Oyster-Sterling-Turquoise Inlay

Offering a rare and large Zuni Tobacco Canteen. It is made from a Spinney Oyster Shell, and bordered with a stamped Sterling Silver band. Probably made in or around 1935-1945, this piece is also inlaid with Turquoise. You don't see these large Canteens come up often. The lid comes off and is held on with a hand made chain, and is stamped traditionally as well. There is also a looped chain larger in size, and hand made as well, which I have used to hang this Canteen off a wood stand. The Morgan Silver Dollar pictured is for size reference only, and is not for sale. It measures 4-3/4" tall, by 3-1/2" wide. At its thickest it is 2-1/2". It weighs a whopping 223.1gr.
