Navajo Wild Horse and Sterling Silver Bolo ~ STUNNING!

Wild Horse is mined in the Gila Wilderness of Southern Arizona. It is sometimes referred to as Wild Horse Turquoise due to its geological  resemblance to patterns of turquoise, but it is not turquoise.
It's a combination of magnesite and hematite (an iron mineral),
technically Wild Horse Magnesite, and is often referred to as Crazy Horse Stone or Appaloosa Stone.  It's easy to understand why it was named after a
brown and white spotted pinto horse.
This is a very beautiful and sizable (2 5/8" x 1 7/8") Wild Horse cabochon, set is a plain Sterling silver bezel surrounded by silver wire rope. The Sterling silver shadowbox-style medallion has applied silver decorations. The tips of the leather "strings"are also Sterling. This is a very striking piece that makes quite a statement. If you like bold pieces or are looking for a great gift, you need look no further than this stunning bolo.
