old coin silver Navajo Concho belt.
This is an old piece that came from Santa Fe New Mexico years ago. I bought it out of a pawn case back in the early eighties. It’s made from Mercury Dimes, and one Silver quarter for the buckle. It’s a smaller belt, which I loved because I could wear it in belt loops. I was told it was made in the 1940’s when I bought it. It’s 40 inches long. The buckle is 1 inch, by 1 1/2 inches. The conches are approximately 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch, but not perfectly round due to the use of coins to make them. You can still see the coin 🪙 edge on each concho. It’s a lovely old piece of work and looks wonderful with jeans, dresses, or skirts.
