Description
old coin silver Navajo Concho belt. This is an old piece that came from Santa Fe New Mexico years ago. I bought it out of a pawn case back in the early eighties. It’s made from Mercury Dimes, and one Silver quarter for the buckle. It’s a smaller belt, which I loved because I could wear it in belt loops. I was told it was made in the 1940’s when I bought it. It’s 40 inches long. The buckle is 1 inch, by 1 1/2 inches. The conches are approximately 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch, but not perfectly round due to the use of coins to make them. You can still see the coin 🪙 edge on each concho. It’s a lovely old piece of work and looks wonderful with jeans, dresses, or skirts.
All handmade wonderful work. It is not signed, as pieces from this time frame weren’t signed for the most part.
