The Spotted Lanternfly Barrier Strip provides an effective, environmentally safe and low-maintenance method of keeping lanternflies below the point of application so they may be more easily controlled by other means.
Consists of a reusable barrier strip and biodegradable absorbent wick that are 12 ft long, enough for 2 to 4 mature trees
Barrier strip is slick plastic with overhanging petals the lanternfly cannot climb or fly across
Absorbent wick provides a source for
consumable, plant-based cooking oil (not provided) to enhance
effectiveness against adult lanternflies with fully developed claws
Easy to install, easy to maintain (re-apply consumable plant-based oil about once a week) and long-lasting
Eliminates the by-catch of native wildlife and the hassle of replacing sticky tape
Minimizes the need for chemical pesticides and their impact on pollinators
The Spotted Lanternfly Tree Barrier Strip is best used on isolated trees that attract lanternflies, trees that are susceptible to heavy feeding (Tree of Heaven, Birch, Maple, etc.) and trees with many egg masses from the previous season as they will likely be targeted again. The Spotted Lanternfly Barrier Strip is most effective against mid-to-late instars through fully developed adults.
