In this listing we have a super cute reproduction Barbie outfit. This is a reproduction of Wedding Day that was released as part of the 50
th
anniversary gift set. It’s a really lovely outfit and a faithful reproduction of one of Barbie’s first wedding dresses. It consists of a satin dress with an overlay of tulle with a flocked and glittered leaf pattern, a tulle veil with a pearl bead headband, a pair of short white gloves, a pearl necklace, and a blue garter with a couple pink flowers on them. A stunning outfit for a beautiful bride! This outfit closes in the back with two metal snaps. The dress is designed to fit dolls with the vintage style Barbie body and will fit dolls of a similar size. This outfit does not come with shoes.
This outfit is in really great shape. It has not been played with, but it was displayed briefly and then put into storage. The dress and the veil are a little wrinkled. Not sure if you can iron that type of fabric though. The dress is very nice. All of the tulle in unhemmed, including the sleeves and the neckline. That is intentional, some of the edges, mostly on the skirt aren’t cut out as neatly as they could be, it’s a very minor issue and you only really see it when looking up close at the outfit. Most of these outfits will have the same issue. There are some excess threads in the back and where the snaps are sewn on. Along the bottom hem, the tulle used for hemming the satin skirt is visible all along the bottom. There’s a small bump on the front of the satin skirt where at the hemming where there’s a small bump in the fabric. It’s very small, it could just be a thread out of place, but I mention everything I see. There are some excess threads at the back seam for the skirt and the overlay as well as both sleeves. On the back of the dress on the right side, where the overlay meets the dress there might be a small tear. It could just be how the dress was made, but the tulle seems little slightly damaged in that spot. It’s hard to see, but I list everything I see. The veil is nice, just like with the dress some of the edges aren’t as perfectly cut as they could be. The section where the veil is sewn to the headband is a little sloppy. There’s some messy stitching and a spot where the tulle wasn’t trimmed properly. Lucky, this will be mostly hidden when on a doll. The necklace looks good. The hook is pinched flat and will need to be opened to put the necklace on a doll. The garter is very nice, the edges are a bit ragged on the tulle and the flower edges are also a little frayed. The gloves look good. They are a bit lobster claw looking and they do have some excess threads at inseam at the side with the thumb. Please examine all pictures to see the exact condition of this outfit.
