Vintage Necklace 37" MOP Black Agate Bird 3 strand Fetish Turquoise Coral Multi

This comes from my personal collection. I've collected Southwestern jewelry since the 1970's.  The necklace is 28" long
with an old style sterling silver hook and eye closure.
The old cones have stamping you only see on old necklaces.  The
fetish birds are also old style, very smooth to the touch with very little detail.   The black birds under magnification have a
translucent quality and I can see striations on some of them which makes me believe they are black agate.   It is strung on
string, old traditional style and the heishi is penshell.  Fetishes are for protection or guidance.  Most birds are believed to
carry prayers to the clouds and sky asking for rain and blessings.
Never out of style, Southwest jewelry is an investment in enjoyment to last a lifetime.
Most Fetish measures approximately  5/8" long
Penshell heishi is 2 mm round
